My parents told me that a college major in stuff like art or philosophy won't make me successful and rich in life. Should I take their advice?
There are three biases which are in operation on a “young mind,” and these are enumerated below :-
A) Parental Biases
B) Peer Biases
C) Societal Biases
In order to find out the INNATE interest of an individual, the PSYCHOMETRIC TESTS are needed for ANALYSIS. If the journey of life is undertaken in the area of innate interest, it will be the journey full of joy and happiness bereft of any stress; strain and burn out. In all probability such a journey will culminate at the ZENITH in that profession!!
The parental biases emanate from “ their unawareness about the skill and knowledge about parenting, grooming and Child Psychology,” which lead them to use the tools of DIRECTIONS/ CONFORMANCE/ PREACHING/ FOLLOWING THE HERD MENTALITY and sometimes they want to use their offspring to fulfill their own UNMET NEEDS and DESIRES!!
To my mind, you should FIND OUT YOUR OWN INNATE INTEREST and you have to make your DECISION in your area of interest to make your life blissful and reach the TOP. There is always room at the top!!!
